A Bride’s Guide to Getting Ready

The morning of your wedding is a time filled with excitement, anticipation, and perhaps a touch of nervousness. As the bride, it’s essential to start your big day off on the right foot by ensuring a smooth and stress-free getting ready process. In this blog post, I will provide you with a comprehensive guide to help you in getting ready for the most memorable day of your life, ensuring you feel relaxed, confident, and radiant as you walk down the aisle.

Who to get ready with?

Most likely you are going to have someone in mind already. It may be your mum, sisters, and/or your crazy tribe. Choose people that you feel comfortable with, who you can count on when it comes to helping with different tasks on the day. Ideally, someone who understands your needs, who you can laugh with, or share a tear or two.

Keep your space tidy

Speaking of people you can ask for help. It shouldn’t be on you to worry about the place being tidy for you to get ready on your big day. You are there to shine, relax, and prepare physically and mentally for what’s to come. Ask someone to have a look around for empty coffee cups, or anything that is not really needed at the moment, and can ruin the perfect photographs.

Choose the right location

There are a few options that brides usually go for. Bride’s family home, a beautifully arranged Airbnb that matches the vibe of the wedding, or a hotel room if it’s more of a remote location. Any of these options will work just great for the photographs, giving a unique story to them.

Plan your timeline

Create a detailed timeline for your wedding day, including specific time slots for hair, makeup, and dressing. This will help you stay organised and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Communicate this timeline with your wedding party, hairstylist, and makeup artist so that everyone knows what to expect and can be ready on time.

Prepare the details

It will make the process a whole lot easier if you could collect all the little things for me beforehand. Later you will love that your album showcase all the precious details that you wore on the day. It is also a good way of making sure nothing is missing, and to see how they all come together.

Getting dressed

Choose a spacious and well-lit room for getting dressed. Keep your dress and accessories organized and easily accessible. Enlist the help of your bridesmaids or family members to assist you with the dressing process. Still allow plenty of time to ensure that you don’t feel rushed.

Relax and recharge

It is going to be a long day, so don’t forget to eat well, and drink plenty of water. Your next meal after the getting ready, you are going to have at the reception, with the ceremony, congratulations, family / group photographs in between. Make sure you take care of yourself, and don’t forget to eat.

Vibe

Obviously it is up to you, how the getting ready process is going to look like. You may want to crank up the volume a little bit, and have a dance with your squad once the champagne and strawberries arrive. Otherwise you may prefer to keep it calm and easy, focus and enjoy the moment.

Your own getting ready

Whatever you are going to choose, make sure it meets your vision. The last thing you want to remember is that the day didn’t go the way you wanted. You have to enjoy it as much as possible, as it is going to set your mood for the rest of the day. Take it easy, plan ahead, don’t rush the process, and of course have fun!
